Font fault

The text in an application's menus and buttons is displayed in the wrong font, or as hieroglyphics.

This happens if you've deleted one of the system fonts such as Arial, MS Sans Serif, Tahoma or Verdana. It isn't easy to find the names of the files you need to restore from the font name, and you'll need to reinstall the fonts after restoring the files. The easiest way to do this is to rerun Windows Setup.
